Boldenone is a well-known substance used in bodybuilding to promote muscle growth. In original descriptions, it is often mentioned in combination with Sustanon, other testosterone preparations or Dianabol tablets, with significant gains in strength and muscle mass reported.
Boldenone , often referred to as boldenone undecylenate, is an anabolic-androgenic steroid originally developed for veterinary medicine. It is abused in bodybuilding to increase performance and muscle mass. Non-medical use is illegal in many countries and is associated with serious health risks.
Anabolic effects
Bodybuilders most often report the following effects:
- moderate, slower, but relatively “clean” increase in muscle mass,
- increase in protein synthesis,
- higher nitrogen retention in muscles,
- increasing the number of red blood cells and thus better oxygenation,
- less water retention compared to some other steroids,
- increased appetite, which facilitates caloric surplus.
Boldenone is considered less androgenic than, for example, testosterone, but it can still cause typical side effects.
Typical combinations (“stacks”)
In bodybuilding, boldenone is rarely mentioned as a separate substance. It is often mentioned:
- with testosterone as the basis of the cycle,
- with other anabolic steroids, such as nandrolone or some oral agents,
- in the drawing stages with substances referred to as “drying agents”.
According to users, such combinations are supposed to bring synergistic effects, but at the same time they significantly increase the risk of side effects.
Common treatments – general description
The community has mostly described cycles lasting several weeks to several months, as boldenone is a long-acting ester and its effects build up more slowly. Specific doses and exact cycle lengths vary greatly based on individual factors. However, use without medical supervision is risky, especially in terms of possible long-term damage.
Possible side effects
- suppression of own testosterone production,
- acne and hair loss with genetic predisposition,
- increased blood pressure,
- changes in blood lipids,
- higher risk of cardiovascular disease,
- enlargement of the heart muscle,
- psychological changes, irritability and mood swings,
- higher blood viscosity due to an increase in the number of red blood cells, which increases the risk of thrombosis.
Long-term abuse can cause permanent hormonal disruptions and fertility problems.
