What is testosterone undecanoate (Nebido)? 

Testosterone undecanoate, often known by the trade name Nebido, is an injectable anabolic-androgenic steroid. It is a synthetic form of the natural male sex hormone testosterone with a very long-acting undecanoate ester. It is used medically in the treatment of testosterone deficiency, i.e. hypogonadism. The very long ester allows the active substance to be released slowly and allows for more stable hormone levels over a longer period of time. 

Reported anabolic effects 

In bodybuilding, testosterone undecanoate is associated with the same basic anabolic effects as other testosterone esters: 

• increase in protein synthesis, 

• better nitrogen retention, 

• increase in muscle mass and strength, 

• better regeneration, 

• increased production of red blood cells. 

Testosterone partially aromatizes to estrogen, which can bring anabolic effects but also estrogen-related side effects. 

Combinations (“stacks”) – general 

In the scene, testosterone is often described as the “base” of various combinations. These include the following combinations that are not recommended: 

• with other injectable AAS in bulking phases, 

• with non-aromatizing or “drying” steroids in bulking phases, 

• during competition preparation as part of complex multiple combinations. 

Such combinations significantly increase the risk of: 

• cardiovascular diseases, 

• hormonal dysregulation, 

• gynecomastia, 

• high blood pressure, 

• psychological side effects. 

Cycle length and dosage 

Due to the very long ester, the community is striving for a long duration of effect. Specific doses or cycle lengths are not given. Non-medical use without medical supervision is associated with significant health risks.
